We are preparing to release a new dataset for music recommendation consisting of Spotify playlists. Spotify API has rate limits, so we’re counting on you to help download some playlists.
To do so:
- Go to Spotify and register for API access. Copy your application ID and secret (login and password).
- Install Spotipy, a Spotify API client in Python.
After that, contact us (zygmunt at fastml.com) and we will provide you with a list of playlists to download and the code which does that.
The API limit is 25000 calls daily. That is enough to download about 8-10k playlists in a few hours. If you’d like a bigger portion, that’s fine too, obviously.
